Sony’s second gaming system was the Playstation 2. It came out in the year 2000 aka y2k. It used the ever popular discs to store its games. The Playstation 2 has a notably better design than the previous model and folks waited in lines for hours when they were first released. Some of the best PS2 games include Resident Evil 4, Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City, God of War, and Burnout 3.
Here is the only working Playstation 2 Emulator for Linux:
#1 – PCSX2 (Version 1.0.0 r5325)
The only PS2 emulator available for Linux/Unix. Don’t expect great compatibility and speed.
The Sony Playstation 2 also known as simply the PS2 was another crowd pleaser and big-time favorite in the gaming community. By now older and older generations that grew up with the Atari and Nintendo Entertainment System were heavily into the Playstation two and Sony knew this. They started catering games to this older generation to try to keep this demographic in the scheme of things and boy oh boy where they ever successful! It was a great plan to create games geared towards the 20 to 35 year old male generation because they have their own money (most of the time) to be able to spend and are actually crazy enough to blow hundreds and even thousands of dollars sometime on games and consoles instead of making extra car payments, rent, or even saving the money! Sony will keep making games for this age rage but probably continue to make games geared to the crowd that helped birth video games and make them ever popular, well at least we hope so because here at FreeEmulator.com we fit into that demographic 🙂
